Privacy policy

This is a translation; the German version (Datenschutzerklärung) is legally binding.

1. Controller

The controller is the operator named in the legal notice, where you will find the address and contact details.

2. In short

Klangbahn runs in your browser. You need no account, we ask for no names and we use no advertising. Songs, seats and settings stay on your device. Personal data is only processed where technically unavoidable (loading the website) or when you write to us.

3. Hosting and server logs

The website is provided via the Lovable platform (Lovable Labs Incorporated) and delivered through the Cloudflare network. When you visit, these providers process technically necessary data: IP address, date and time, requested address, browser and operating system, for secure and stable operation (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Data may be transferred to the USA on the basis of the providers’ safeguards (EU standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework). [check: data processing agreement with Lovable, log retention]

4. Cookies and browser storage

Cloudflare may set a technically necessary cookie (“__cf_bm”, about 30 minutes) to tell real visitors from automated traffic. The program stores your settings, seats, own courses and language choice in your browser’s storage (“localStorage”). This data does not leave your device and can be deleted in your browser settings.

5. Visitor statistics

[check: Lovable adds its own statistics script to published pages – either switch it off in the Lovable settings (then delete this section) or describe here what it records.]

6. The program at /app

Music files you drag into the program are processed only in your browser and are not uploaded. Only the optional feature “Detect melody from MP3” loads a program library from esm.sh and unpkg.com on first use; your IP address is transmitted to these providers (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). The MP3 file itself stays on your device. The online features (tablet room, progress tracking) are not part of the trial version on this site.

7. Song requests

When requesting a song, you submit only its title and an optional short note. Voting submits only the song request identifier and increases its vote count. Please do not enter names, email addresses or other personal information in the free-text fields. The song request database stores no names, email addresses, IP addresses or accounts; the song request feature sets no cookies and stores no visitor identifiers.

Requests are stored in Lovable Cloud in the EU, region eu-west-1 (Ireland). New requests become public only after approval; notes are not published. The operator deletes unapproved requests within 12 months. Processing serves the selection of requested songs (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Technically necessary processing of IP addresses by the hosting and Cloud providers remains unaffected; see section 3. This is not a guarantee that these providers keep no IP logs or use no technically necessary cookies.

8. Contact by email

If you write to us, we process your details to answer your request (Art. 6 (1) (b) or (f) GDPR) and delete them when they are no longer needed and no retention obligation applies.

9. Children

The trial version does not process any personal data of pupils. There are no accounts and no name entry for children.

10. Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR). Please contact the address above. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, for example the Bavarian Data Protection Authority (BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany.
